German jazz organ sensation Barbara Dennerlein will play at the Green Mill in Chicago on Friday, August 21st and Saturday, August 22nd. In the 1980's, when Joey DeFranceso's virtuosity was rekindling America's love affair with the Hammond B3 organ, wunderkind Barbara Dennerlein own virtuosity on the B3 was instrumental in reviving interest in the Hammond organ in Europe. Barbara Dennerlein is known for her fancy footwork on the organ pedals, producing great fluid and funky bass lines. This allows full two handed control of the upper manuals for harmony and melody, yielding a rich, dense, 'fat' sound. She will be at the Green Mill  joined by Pat Mallinger of on tenor sax and the swinging Dana Hall on drums. You can enjoy a double helping of great jazz organ each night: on Friday, August 21st  Chris Forman plays B3 for happy hour from 5:00-8:00PM and the Barbara Dennerlein trio performs from 9:00 PM until 1:00 AM, and then on Saturday, August 22nd the Barbara Dennerlein trio performs from 8:30 PM until midnight and Sabertooth keeps the joint jumping with their  "After Hours Jazz Party" until 4:00 AM.
