Guitarist Kyle Asche returns to the Green Mill in Chicago with Hammond B3 legend Mel Rhyne to celebrate the release of his new CD, Blues For Mel on Friday, April 24th starting at 9 PM, and on Saturday, April 25th starting at 8 PM. Kyle Asche was awarded as a semifinalist in the prestigious 2005 Thelonius Monk International Guitar Competition.  Melvin Rhyne is  best known for his work with Wes Montgomery who was also from Indianapolis, Indiana. Originally a pianist, RHyne began to play organ when playing with Roland Kirk in 1955. After collaborating with several blues artists, including T-Bone Walker and B.B. King, he joined Wes Montgomery's group in 1959 and performed on many of Montgomery's finest recordings.

B3 organ freaks attending this show should show up early on Friday for Chris Forman happy hour B3 gig from 6-8 and stay late on Saturday for Sabertooth with Cameron Pfiffner on tenor sax, Pat Mallinger on alto & tenor sax, Pete Benson on Hammond B-3 organ, Ted Sirota on drums playing from midnight until 2 AM.

Guitarist Kyle Asche arrived in Chicago, Illinois in 1998, and has since become an integral and in-demand part of the city's jazz scene. The Kyle Ashe Organ Trio continuously perform at many of the famous venues in Chicago including the Green Mill, Hothouse (ubtil it closed), Andy's Jazz Club, Pops for Champagne, and Pete Miller's.

In 2005 Kyle Asche's debut album as a leader was released, The Hook Up (Origin/OA2), and was very well received throughout the USA in the media and radio. Jazz Times stated, "Asche displays a beautiful sound and a well-developed melodic sense." Mr. Asche's highly acclaimed second CD as a leader, Blues For Mel (Tippin'), which was just released release, places him in the company of legendary elder jazz statesman of the organ, Melvin Rhyne (Wes Montgomery Trio from the 1960s), and Chicago based drummer George Fludas (Ray Brown, Cedar Walton Trios). This swinging includes original compositions by both Kyle Asche and Melvin Rhyne in addition to other jazz classics.
