 Trio Da Paz
Joe Locke is considered by many to be the most gifted vibraphonist of his generation. Trio da Paz featuresthree of Brazil's most in-demand musicians, and updates the infectious spirit of jazz-oriented Brazilian music. Formed in 1990 by Romero Lubambo, Nilson Matta and Duduka da Fonseca, the Trio redefines Brazilian Jazz with their harmonically adventurous interactions, daring improvisations and dazzling rhythms. All three are seasoned masters of both jazz and Brazilian music with impressive resumes.
 Joe Locke
The Trio da Paz's critically acclaimed, multi-faceted debut recording Brazil from the Inside , with special guests Herbie Mann, Claudio Roditi, Joanne Brackeen and Maucha Adnet, received the "Indie" award for best album of the year. Trio da Paz followed that success with a daring and ambitious concept album, an exploration of the well-known themes from Black Orpheus, the soundtrack that set Brazilian music on a new course. Their third release, Partido Out, is a riveting mix of spirited original compositions embracing the full spectrum of rhythms, fusing jazz and Brazilian music in a most fresh and exciting way. This CD won the Jazz Jornalists Association award of "The best brasilian jazz album of the year" in 2002. The Trio's latest release, CAFE, includes special performances by Cesar Camargo Mariano and Grammy Award winners Dianne Reeves and Joe Lovano.
 Romero Lubambo
Locke's recording "Rev.elation" - The Music of Milt Jackson, stayed at #1 on Jazz Week's national radio chart for an unprecedented 8 weeks in 2005 / 2006 [Click here for a Jazz Police review]. In June 2006 Joe Locke was honored with the Jazz Journalists Association (JJA) Award for "Mallet Player of the Year". A list of the artists with whom Joe has performed and recorded exhibits his diversity as an artist. That list includes Eddie Henderson, Cecil Taylor, Kenny Barron, Ron Carter, Jimmy Scott, Rod Stewart, Hiram Bullock, Bob Berg and Jeff "Tain" Watts, to name only a few. Joe Locke has released over 20 recordings as a band leader, and more than 100 as a guest artist.
 Nilson Matta
In 1985 he left Brazil for New York, where he worked for Astrud Gilberto for four years. Lubambo has since performed and recorded with many outstanding artists including Diane Reeves, Michael Brecker, Al Jarreau, Kathleen Battle, Herbie Mann, Ivan Lins, Flora Purim and Airto, Paquito D'Rivera, Harry Belafonte, Grover Washington Jr., Leny Andrade and Cesar Camargo Mariano.
 Duduka Da Fonseca
Nilson moved to New York City in 1985. Five years after his move to the States, he co-founded an extraordinary quintet, The African Brazilian Connection, with pianist Don Pullen. In September 2006, Nilson released a CD for Blue Toucan Music, Nilson Matta and Friends: Walking With My Bass. It's a kind of autobiography project with a wide range of guests. Among them are Joao Bosco, Ivan Lins, Kenny Barron, Harry Allen, Rosa Passos, Robertinho Silva, Mauricio Einhorn, Joyce, Helio Alves, Filo Machado, Vic Juris and others. Since 1997 Nilson has taught bass at Bass Collective in New York City and at Montclair University in New Jersey.
 Trio Da Paz
Duduka has recorded and performed with artists such as Antonio Carlos Jobim, Astrud Gilberto, Herbie Mann, Claudio Roditi, Joanne Brackeen, Eddie Gomez, John Scofield, Joe Henderson, Gerry Mulligan, Jorge Dalto, Dom Salvador, Mýo Adnet, Paulo Jobim, Jacques Morelenbaum, Lee Konitz, Toshiko Akiyoshi, Phil Woods, Emily Remler, Nana Vasconcelos, Nancy Wilson, Slide Hampton, Kenny Barron, Tom Harrell. In 2003 Duduka's first solo album "Samba Jazz Fantasia" was nominated for the GRAMMY for Best Latin Jazz Album.
 Maucha Adnet
Maucha Adnet was born in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, and started her professional singing career at the age of 15, as a member of vocal group Céu da Boca. From 1978 to 1984, Céu da Boca recorded two albums released by Polygram. From 1984 to 1994, Maucha performed, toured and recorded with legendary composer Antonio Carlos Jobim and his band Banda Nova. Maucha toured with Jobim throughout Brazil, United States, Japan, Israel and Europe and performed in Jazz Festivals and halls. She was the guest vocalist on Randy Brecker's Grammy Winner CD 'Into the Sun'. Residing in New York for many years, Maucha has been performing regurlaly with her own band. Most recently she was the guest vocalist performing with Wynton Marsalis and the Lincoln Center Jazz Orchestra with Cyro Baptista. Maucha has a solo CD 'Songs I Learned From Jobim', released in Japan (Venus Records).
