ImageOrange County’s newest jazz club, the Vault VIP in the OC Pavilion, will present The Scott Martin Latin Soul Band on June 29 starting at 8 PM. Scott Martin plays tenor, alto, baritone and soprano saxophone and flute. He has performed all over the world with many artists but is best known for his successful tenure with the Poncho Sanchez Latin Jazz Band for over thirteen years, winning a Grammy with the band for ‘Best Latin Jazz Performance’. Scott played on over ten of the band’s CDs, playing all sax parts and contributing compositions and arrangements for over 10 of the band’s CDs.

Scott Martin has three CDs as a leader, Menudo & Gritz, Cafe Cubano, and A Martin Family Christmas. Besides playing Jazz Saxophone and Flute, Scott is a well rounded versatile performer who has played with many artists and performers such as Celia Cruz, Tito Puente, Jazz on the Latin Side All Stars, Mongo Santamaria, Francisco Aguabella, Ray Charles, Fred Wesley, Pee Wee Ellis, Maceo Parker, James Moody, Barry Manilow, Dr Dre, Arturo Sandoval, Eddie Harris, Chick Corea, Karryn Allison, Diane Reeves, The Temptations, The Four Tops, Larry Coryell, Booker T, Joe Sample, Wilton Felder, Wayne Henderson, Joey Defrancesco, Eddie Floyd, Sam Moore, Billy Preston, Eddie Palmieri, Ry Cooder and many, many others.

Scott’s compositions and playing have been featured on Television shows such as "Sex and the City’, "As The World Turns", "The Jimmy Kimmel Show", and many more. He has been an active studio musician playing on Television, Commercials and Film Productions. Scott Martin can be seen at jazz venues around Southern California. The Vault VIP Lounge is Orange County’s newest jazz club, featuring locally acclaimed jazz musicians and offering the ambiance of a five star venue. Once a basement vault for a large bank, the Vault VIP Lounge has been transformed into a plush nightclub with hightop tables, leather sofas, intricate art pieces and romantic lighting. The Vault VIP Lounge Friday Night Jazz requires a $10 cover charge or free entrance with a dinner purchase in the world class Ambrosia Restaurant.
