“Music is your own experience, your thoughts, your wisdom. If you don’t live it, it won’t come out of your horn. They teach you there’s a boundary line to music. But, man, there’s no boundary line to art.” - Charlie Parker

If you like guitar, it is worth staying up late this week, as Dizzy's late night program features Jake Langley's Trio starting at 1:00 AM in this week leading up to Mingus' birthday from Tuesday April 17th through Saturday April 21st. The Jake Langley Trio features Jake Langley on guitar, Evan Gregor on bass, and Ian Froman on drums. Stepping out of his well known role in the world's swingingest jazz organ trio, Guitarist Jake Langley will celebrate Mingus' legacy by leading his trio in a performance of his music. He worked regularly in Boston with many Berklee faculty including trombonist Phil Wilson's quintet. He finished his Berklee requirements in 2003 Summa Cum Laude, and remained in Boston another year performing and continuing his studies.
