Pete Whitman © Andrea Canter Sometimes here in the Twin Cities, it seems that there is just so much jazz, so little time. And often price does not figure into our decisions of what to attend, as most of it is free or downright cheap, with covers ranging from a few dollars to $10 for most events. And there are always bigger budget options—the national shows at the Dakota often run $25-$35; concerts in various halls can be $20 and up (and up). But generally jazz is one of the best entertainment bargains in this or any other town. Even in Manhattan, where a Broadway show can easily run $100 or more, the high end jazz venues sell tickets for $30-$40. Of course here in the Twin Cities, our cover charges do not add on a bar or dining room minimum! Full jazz calendar on the Twin Cities page of Jazz Police!
