UCLA Inaugurates Jazz Salon Series Print E-mail

(LAjazz.com) Friends of Jazz at UCLA and the UCLA Fowler Museum will present four David L. Abell Memorial Jazz Salons on Sunday afternoons at UCLA, beginning with a performance on August 6. The inaugural season will present The Harold Mabern Trio featuring John Clayton and Roy McCurdy, Jessica Williams, George Cables and Fred Hersch. The jazz salon format is designed to allow the audience to engage in a dialogue with the jazz musicians. The programs will consist of two sets, separated by a 45 minute question and answer period with the musicians, led by a prominent jazz expert.
