 Preservation Hall Jazz Band Ravinia presents a Father's day week-end jazz extravaganza on Thursday, June 15th through Sunday June 18th with perfromances by the
Gary Burton Quartet featuring Pat Metheny, Steve Swallow, and Antonio Sanchez on the 15h;
The Preservation Hall Jazz Band, Dr. John, and Neville Brothers on the 16th;
Madeleine Peyroux on the 17th; and and
Father's Day with the Big Bands on June 18 feaaureing:
The Smithsonian Jazz Masterworks Orchestra,
Eric Schneider and Jeff Lindberg's Chicago Jazz Orchestra, and
Jon Faddis conducts The Chicago Jazz Ensemble .
 Gary Burton Quartet Revisited Gary Burton Quartet Revisited perfomrs on Thursday, June 15 at 8:00 PM.
Twelve-time Grammy nominee Gary Burton taught himself to play the vibraphone and, at the age of 17, made his recording debut in Nashville, Tennessee, with guitarists Hank Garland and Chet Atkins. His 1971 album Alone at Last, a solo vibraphone concert recorded at the 1971 Montreux Jazz Festival, was honored with a Grammy Award.
Performing with: Pat Metheny, Steve Swallow, and Antonio Sanchez.

Named for the venerable Preservation Hall in New Orleans' French Quarter Preservation Hall Jazz Band has remained dedicated to its mission of preserving and performing New Orleans jazz around the world.
Vocalist and keyboard player Dr. John, a 40-year veteran of the New Orleans music scene, is a lifelong advocate for the city's deep musical roots. "With Dr. John at the keyboards, all roads lead to New Orleans."
Throughout their long careers as both solo performers and members of the group that bore their family name, The Neville Brothers proudly carry the torch of the rich R&B legacy of their native New Orleans.

Time magazine pronounced her debut album "the most exciting, involving vocal performance by a new singer."

Father's Day with the Big Bands is presented on Sunday, June 18 startng at
7:00 PM.

Smithsonian Jazz Masterworks Orchestra with special guest Sylvia McNair performs the music of Quincy Jones and Oliver Nelson.
A tribute to clarinet masters Artie Shaw and Benny Goodman, featuring Eric Schneider and Jeff Lindberg's Chicago Jazz Orchestra, including strings.
Jon Faddis conducts The Chicago Jazz Ensemble featuring Ramsey Lewis (dance floor on the north lawn).
