Are you looking for a new jazz spot in the Twin Cities? One that’s nothing like the traditional jazz clubs? Well, look no further than Red Ginger Jazz, because it’s all here.

Red Ginger Jazz takes place at the Red Ginger Asian Bistro in Shoreview, MN every Friday and Saturday night from 8 pm-11 pm. So what’s so different? Well, let’s start with the setting. The Red Ginger Asian Bistro is an elegant, yet “come as you are” restaurant serving original recipe Chinese, Japanese and Thai cuisine that is out of sight! With a gorgeous interior that was renovated in early 2006, the Red Ginger provides a warm and intimate atmosphere perfect for live jazz. The built-in jazz stage overlooks a cozy room of candle-lit tables leading back to the full bar. Located in Shoreview, Red Ginger Jazz is basically the sole provider of live jazz and blues in the northeast metro of the Twin Cities. It’s conveniently located right off Hwy 35W and County Rd. J. and offers free parking and no cover charge for Red Ginger Jazz .

The Red Ginger began hosting live jazz towards the end of March 2006. Red Ginger owner Josh Chen was extremely excited about having live music at his venue and turned to Manifest Events President Mike Fessler to spearhead the project. Jazz was the selected music of choice by both Chen and Fessler for its elegant ability to create a soothing ambiance and its natural ability to compliment romance, relaxing, good food and wine. Red Ginger Jazz features artists from all styles of jazz and blues throughout the Twin Cities. You can catch regular appearances by Chill 7, Charmin Michelle, Eric Graham Trio, The Jaztronauts, Deanna Lind and State Champs. Other artists who have played Red Ginger Jazz include Clay Moore, Brian Barnes, Snowblind, Joel Shapira, Signe Hensel and the Tom Pletscher Duo, to name a few. Red Ginger Jazz has an excellent schedule with new and returning artists monthly. Red Ginger Jazz also features what is called the Red Ginger Jazz Record Shop. Every Friday and Saturday night during Red Ginger Jazz , CDs from numerous local jazz artists are on display and for sale. Red Ginger Jazz also has its own mailing list which releases weekly newsletters to its members and a section on the Red Ginger Asian Bistro website, www.redgingerasianbistor.com
