The JazzMN Big Band, under the direction of Dr. Douglas R. Snapp, includes Pete Whitman and Dave Milne, alto saxophone; Dave Karr and Greg Keel, tenor saxophone; Kathy Jensen, baritone saxophone; Michael Nelson, Dave Graf, Ethan Freier, trombone, Wade Clark, bass trombone; Bob Hallgrimson, Bernie Edstrom, Dave Jensen, John Ahern, trumpet; Dave Singley, guitar; Mary Louise Knutson, piano; Terry Burns, bass; Joe Pulice, drums.

Formed as a nonprofit jazz arts organization in 1998, JazzMN is a professional orchestra which combines the talents of outstanding jazz musicians from throughout the Twin Cities, and follows the models of classical orchestras in striving for artistic excellence.

JazzMN's mission is to promote, preserve and perpetuate jazz, America's indigenous art music, through performance, historical preservation and educational outreach.

Saturday, Nov. 5, 2005, 7:30 PM, Ryan Kisor, trumpet,
featured soloist with the Lincoln Center Jazz Orchestra and the Mingus Big Band.

Saturday, Jan. 21, 2006, 7:30 PM, Bob Florence, pianist/composer/arranger, Grammy Award-winning leader of the Bob Florence Limited Edition Big Band.

Saturday, March 18, 2006, 7:30 PM, Peter Erskine, drummer, a Grammy-Award winner, who has worked with Diana Krall, Weather Report, Maynard Ferguson and Stan Kenton.

JazzMN's current location is the new Hopkins High School Performing Arts Center, 2400 Lindbergh Drive, one half-mile off Highway 169, west on Cedar Lake Road, with free adjacent parking. www.jazzmn.org
