Marc Bernstein and his group will be performing new compositions inspired by Jewish culture/music from Eastern Europe and the Bernstein's (nee Kibrick) own history as immigrants during the start of the turbulent 20th century. This concert is part of the "Talk and Play" series which was created in the summer of 2004 by Paul Weinstein.
The performance will feature Marc Bernstein saxophones, Mike McGuirk bass, Bill Campbell drums,and Pete Rende Rhodes.
The group's newest recording - Marc Bernstein 4 "Kibrick" - was released in January 2005 in Copenhagen (cdjazz.com) and Marc has performed the music all over Europe. The concert at the Center for Jewish History, 15 West 16th Street (between 5th and 6th Avenues), New York City will be the first performance of this music in the United States.

Marc Bernstein moved from NYC to Denmark in 1995 to lead the jazz department at The Danish Conservatory of Music and Communication. Marc has recorded with Tom Harrell, Billy Cobham, Billy Hart and Richie Beirach (amongst others). Visit www.marc-bernstein.com for more information.
