Judy Wexler is quickly becoming known in the Southern California jazz
scene for her warm voice and impeccable taste. She has played at most
of the top jazz venues in Los Angeles, including the Los Angeles County
Museum of Art's Friday Night Jazz Series, Spazio, Steamer's, the Jazz
Bakery, and The Biltmore, in addition to gigs in New York's historic
Triad Theater and the ASCAP-sponsored Music Cafe at the 2004 Sundance
Film Festival. She enjoys working with great musicians such as Tom
Garvin, Karen Hammack, Tamir Hendelman, Bob Sheppard, and so many more.
Judy began studying piano when she was just five, and ever
since has been pursuing her love of music. Although a long-time
resident of Los Angeles, she performed in clubs and cabarets in San
Francisco, and starred in musical theater productions that won the Bay
Area Theater Critics Award and the Cabaret Gold Award. She co-founded a
theater group (Caught in the Act: A Theater Collective of Four Short
Women), and also acted in numerous plays. Ms. Wexler, who studied jazz
piano for several years with acclaimed pianist Terry Trotter, and
acting with Stella Adler, has appeared as a guest star on television
shows including Frasier, Divorce Court, Golden Girls, and New Adam 12.
