CHRIS BURNETT, despite his relatively young age, has already participated in thousands of live performances due to his 20-year military music career, which included: a Staff and Faculty assignment at the Armed Forces School of Music; Woodwind Group Leader for the NATO Band at Naples, Italy; performing at the age of 22, as featured alto saxophone soloist with the Hof Symphony Orchestra (Germany) during their performance of the Rolf Liebermann 12-tone serial work, Concerto for Jazz Band and Symphony Orchestra; as well as, numerous performing tours in the US and various countries overseas. He is also the former director of the jazz ensemble program at the University of Missouri's Engineering campus located in the Missouri Ozarks at Rolla, Missouri.

The Chris Burnett QUARTET features his own original compositions and his original arrangements of some select standard jazz literature. He was one of the principle artist/educators featured at the First Annual Jazz Education Forum and Jazz Festival in 1998, which was held in Jefferson City, Missouri. At which, he performed with his own quartet, as well as with a group comprised of: Bill Cunliffe on piano, Kristin Korb on bass, and Yoron Israel on drums. In 1999 and 2000, he performed with his group for Jon Poses during Columbia, Missouri's "We Always Swing" Jazz Series Pub Crawl. Recent activities include: opening for Maynard Ferguson in Kansas City, the Elms Resort and Spa Wine and Jazz Festival, and a performance at the Blue Room in Kansas City.
