"Jazz is in the sound. Jazz is in the rhythm. And jazz is in the legacy of the music being passed along from musician to musician, and generation to generation. It is our duty, honor, and pleasure to be part of this thread in the fabric of jazz music." - Peter Erskine

Las Vegas City of Lights Jazz Festival
Page 2

Quote Schivo: "Last year's festival was an extreme success, the festival grew and gained additinal recocnition worldwide, spiraling the 11th Annual Las Vegas City of Lights Jazz Festival into a very special light, and as our Jazz Festival continues to gain momentum, it will rank with the likes of all first-rate European and big-city-USA spring and summer Jazz Festivals, perhaps more so because Las Vegas is truly a one-of-a-kind city."

Past Jazz stalwarts that have graced the festival include: The legendary Jazz Crusaders, Norman Brown, Lee Ritenour, Hiroshima, Andy Narell, Rick Braun, Joe Sample, Boney James, Gerald Albright, Fattburger, Larry Carlton, Poncho Sanchez, Flora Purim and Airto, Ronnie Laws, The Yellowjackets, Hugh Masakela, Brenda Russell, Chuck Mangione, Alex Bugneon and many more. The Jazz Festival, established in 1994, has hosted capacity crowds in years past as people from around the country and Las Vegas locals as well, danced in the aisles to a full ten hours of quality Jazz entertainment.

Patrons of the Jazz Festival are permitted to bring into the park picnic baskets filled with their favorite food and beverages, (no glass containers allowed this year)as well, there will be various concessions at the festival. This year's Jazz festival will offer free admission to children 10 years of age and under, and a reduced ticket price to children 12-18 years of age for $15, which will be available at the on-site festival box office on the day of the event. VIP close up seating with it's own cash bar and executive toilets are $95.00 advance suject to tax and service charges. General Admission advance adult tickets are $56.00 subject to tax and service charge. Partial proceeds to benefit the Clark County Parks and Community Services donation fund for scholarships.
