Dan's Bar Print E-mail

Dan's Bar, 119 South Elm Street, Denton TX 940-891-1549

The De Capo Jazz and Blues Lovers Guide to the U.S. says: With sepia-tone photos hanging from the walls and candles flickering on rustic tables, Dan's Bar looks more like an antique shop than a hipste restaurant that doubles as a live music venue. Squeezed into the back pocket of the downtown square of Denton, a cool college town 35 miles north of Dallas, Dan's often hosts local and national jazz and blues firebirds, along with rock and country acts. With the University of North Texas within spitting distance, Dan's is heavy on college kids, but not on frat-boys; these friendly, scruffy kids will buy ya a beer, and not expect a phone number in return.
