2004 Twin Cities Hot Summer Jazz Festival to include Saint Paul events! Print E-mail

Image The crowd was amazed watching Byron "Wookie" Landham - literally steaming at the 2003 Twin Cities Hot Summer Jazz Festival as he and Joey Defrancesco performed on the "Jack McDuff Memorial" stage in Peavey Plaza, Minneapolis.

This Years Festival (also living up to its' name) will include Saint Paul with sponsored events on the weekend of the 18th in Saint Paul clubs, Jazz Fest Art Crawl at over 30 galleries in Lowertown, and free outdoor jazz performances in Mears Park. Uptown amd Plymouth stages will also be added.

Starting Monday the 21st the Festival returns to Minneapolis with evening event in clubs and on the 24th there is a 'Jazz Night Out'. The Hot Summer Jazz Festival keeps cooking on the weekend as it returns to Peavey Plaza and other stages downtown, which will host a full weekend of jazz including local stars visitors and special guests: David “Fathead” Newman, Jimmy McGriff, and Chicago's Von Freeman at the "Jack McDuff Memorial" stage (details follow).
