Dixie's on Grand Print E-mail
Written by Don Berryman
Tuesday, 30 March 2004

Dixie's (651-222-7345), 695 Grand Ave., St. Paul. Music at 8:30 or 9 p.m.,

This restaurant and bar on trendy Grand Avenue in Saint Paul, serves tasty ribs and southern food. Although not a music club, they have some nice musicians perform in a corner of the bar. I am told they plan to remodel and add a stage since the music is getting popular. They have both smoking and non-smoking areas. The music presented is sometimes jazz, but more frequently R&B, soul and blues. There is no cover charge for the music.

They bill every Thirsday as Billy Holloman's B-3 Organ Night but there is no Hammond or Leslie in the house, Billy plays a portable keyboard and the music is more R&B than Jazz.
