“What’s music for? Making money? Entertainment? No. Music is a language, one that exists between the land of emotion and the land of intellect. It’s about creating vibration, an energy. Music is for healing and transformation.” - John Medeski

Longtime singer Izzy Chait, known as the “Renaissance Man,” brought a great group of his well-known regular band, plus some stellar musician friends, to the Culver Club on Friday, February 10th. The quartet included Bill Keis (piano); Jerry Vivino (tenor sax and flute); Ric Fierabracci (bass), Tom Walsh (drums), and back-up singers, Billie Barnum and Pattie Brooks. Featured guest musicians were guitarist Don Peake; violinist Scarlet Rivera and drummer Paul Kreibich - all who have had associations with Chait over many years.

Merle Kreibich, who booked these shows, introduced the evening and KKJZ (KJAZZ) 88.1 FM disc man, Bubba Jackson, who got the show rolling well. Jackson asked the filled-to-capacity audience if they were ready to start celebrating Valentine's Day early. They responded with a big, “Yes!” Both shows this night provided many profound songs performed perfectly for the upcoming Valentine's Day celebration.
