Canadian-born Gerald Finley is an operatic baritone with a literary bent. His recital at Carnegie's Zankel Hall on Saturday night features settings of Heinrich Heine and James Joyce. Later this month, he'll give the premiere of Peter Lieberson's "Songs of Love and Sorrow," a cycle based on poems by Pablo Neruda. He joins us to share his latest CD, which includes roles that he himself has created, including J. Robert Oppenheimer in John Adams's opera Doctor Atomic.
